The Holidays are so fun...right? Yes, of course they are! But sometimes we just need some helpful reminders so we don't feel like we're living in our own crazy snow globe. During whata is definitely one of the most stressful times of the year, why not face it head-on with a plan to set us all up for success and all that holiday cheer! Here a few thoughts to keep in mind heading into the Holiday Season...
Keep part of your routine in place: As crazy as these days can feel, the predictability of simple routines will bring a sense of calm and peace to you and your kids.
Prioritize self-care: These times are a lot on parents. There are so many moving parts, so many things to organize and prepare for. Make sure you put YOU on your "To Do" list so you can approach this busy time with a clear mind.
Be flexible: I realize this contradicts my first suggestion, however, it is the holidays and things are going to pop up that you don't expect and that's ok! Go with it, be in the moment. The harder you try to grip, the more burn you'll feel.
Embrace new and old traditions as a family: Nothing says the holidays like meaningful traditions that have been shared and passed on through generations. Share things with your kids and even start your own new special traditions!
Be mindful and intentional: This applies to everyday parenting, but especially during this joyous time when memories are made and time together feels more precious than any gift under the tree. Be present and grateful for your wonderful family and cherish the time you have together!
Every happy memory created for a child is another treasure of a lifetime.
